ABOUT NYOKA

Nyoka is an actress, educator, singer, and vocal coach. She graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Emory & Henry College in May 2018, an MFA in Acting from Regent University, and an M.A. in English Composition from Liberty University. She is currently serving as the Communication, Speech, and Theatre Faculty at Southwest Virginia Community College. Nyoka has worked professionally at the Detroit Opera House, the Detroit Masonic Temple, and the Virginia Stage Company. She has also directed for the Arts Inclusion Company, Collaboration, and Southwest Virginia Community College.

As an actress, she has most connected to her portrayal of Emcee in Cabaret and Jo March in Little Women. Most recently, she portrayed the romantic Mrs. Lavinia Penniman in The Heiress and completed her Thesis on the role of Lydia Wickham in Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley.

She is a very passionate artist because the process allows her to find truth within herself and in the world as she strives to understand the beauty and chaos that are constantly in motion within it.

Nyoka's dream is to be on Days of Our Lives as a descendent of Sami Brady and the Dimera family. She also wants to continue to serve as an educator which will allow her to spread theatre and music to growing communities where art is less accessible because all young people deserve to be exposed to art. The life goal is to save all the dogs.
